I've been memorizing Bible verses lately. I'd love to share some of them with you:
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name," (His Name is LORD, Master, etc.)
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."
"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,"
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
1 Peter 3:18
"For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;"
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast."
"And He said to them, 'Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"
"Therefore repent and return (to God), so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;"
Salvation is not on the basis of our deeds. One sin committed equals death. (James 2:10) That would mean that no one could be saved. That's why salvation is on the basis of Jesus's sacrifice. The Bible says that all you have to do is believe - meaning trust, or put your faith in the LORD Jesus Christ.
Most people hope that they will go to heaven when they die, but it's so exciting that there is a way that we can know!
